Privacy policy

This page names every third party the site loads, the storage each one uses, how long it lasts, and how to withdraw.

By anomalith.org editorial team. Last reviewed: .

I checked the built pages and the loader before writing this. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra load on the first view; Reject turns all three off for 180 days. There is no account and no newsletter.

What loads, and when

The site loads three third parties by default, on the first view and without waiting for a click: Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-EDP3P5832N), Microsoft Clarity (project z53dohhi5f, heatmaps and session replay), and Adsterra (publisher 3403020; an in-page Native Banner, unit 31978808, and a fixed Social Bar, unit 31978809). An absent choice is treated as granted by the loader. This describes the technical default; the banner does not obtain prior opt-in consent.

Pressing Reject writes a refusal, disables analytics collection and reloads this page to stop already-running vendor scripts. Future page views skip all three vendors for 180 days. Cookie settings in the footer reopens the banner, and OK switches them back on. Global Privacy Control or a browser Do Not Track signal overrides a stored OK.

YouTube is the one third party that does not load by default: a trailer shows a local thumbnail, and only pressing play inserts an iframe to youtube-nocookie.com for that video. Until then YouTube is not requested.

Cookies and localStorage keys

Own keys. anomalith.consent in localStorage holds JSON with choice (granted or denied), ts (milliseconds) and ads (granted or denied); lifetime 180 days from ts; purpose: remember the banner choice. anomalith.adsterra_bar_closed in localStorage holds JSON with closed (true) and exp (milliseconds); lifetime 180 days; purpose: keep the Adsterra Social Bar closed after a visitor dismisses it. Neither key is sent to a server. Clearing site data removes both.

Google Analytics 4 may set first-party cookies _ga and _ga_EDP3P5832N to distinguish browsers and sessions; the tag's default cookie lifetime is two years. Requests go to www.googletagmanager.com and www.google-analytics.com. The property's event-retention setting was not independently retrieved during this review, so no site-specific duration is asserted. See Google's privacy policy and Analytics opt-out.

Microsoft lists _clck, _clsk, CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID and SM for visitor identification, session stitching and Microsoft identifier synchronization; browser restrictions can prevent some cookies. Clarity uses www.clarity.ms, scripts.clarity.ms and regional collection subdomains of clarity.ms. Microsoft's published retention is 30 days for ordinary playback data and nine months for heatmaps and labeled or favorited sessions. These are vendor-published durations, checked 2026-10-29, rather than an audit of this project's dashboard. See Clarity cookies, data retention and Microsoft's privacy policy.

Adsterra delivery hosts observed in the 2026-10-29 browser review are bicea.org, static.nresystems.com, cdn.storageimagedisplay.com, cdn.show-creative1.com, cdn.show-sb.com and cdn.cloudpiko.com. They deliver ad code and creatives and may use cookies or local storage for frequency limits, measurement and fraud detection. Creative hosts and vendor storage names can change; no fixed cookie names or retention durations have been independently confirmed for these placements. See Adsterra's privacy policy.

Your choices, retention and rights

Reject stops future collection; it does not delete data already sent. The default-on behavior described above is not an assertion that silence constitutes legally valid consent. Your applicable privacy rights are unaffected. For questions, access or deletion requests, contact [email protected]. Mail is handled through Cloudflare Email Routing and this site's mail-hub Worker; your address, message and attachments are used to handle the correspondence.

The two localStorage preferences expire after 180 days. Vendor retention is described above where a public source exists; the site's GA4 event-retention setting and ad-cookie durations remain unconfirmed and are not estimated. Mail has no published fixed deletion schedule; you can request deletion of correspondence still held.

You can ask for a copy or deletion of mail still held, and you can clear cookies and localStorage yourself at any time; the site works without them. To opt out of personalized advertising across sites, use https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/ (EU/UK), https://optout.aboutads.info/ (US) or https://adssettings.google.com. A Do Not Track header is honored as a rejection here, and Global Privacy Control always overrides a stored OK.

Questions people ask

Do analytics and ads load before I press OK?

Yes. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra load on the first view by default. Press Reject to turn them off; the choice is remembered for 180 days, and Cookie settings lets you change it.

How do I withdraw consent?

Press Reject on the banner, or open Cookie settings in the footer and press Reject. That writes anomalith.consent as denied for 180 days, disables analytics and reloads the page with all three vendors stopped. You can also clear this site's stored preferences in the browser.

Does YouTube load with the page?

No. A trailer shows a local thumbnail; the youtube-nocookie.com iframe is inserted only after you press play. YouTube may then set its own cookies under Google's policy.
